If you are interested in becoming a speaker please Submit a Abstract for 2018 CUHMMC

You are invited to submit an abstract and speak at the 36th annual College and University Hazardous Materials Management Conference on August 5-8, 2018, in Black Hawk, Colorado.  Many of you have relevant topics and material that our group would love to hear.  If you’ve thought about it in the past but have been straddling the fence, this is the year to submit.  We encourage you to consider submitting an abstract; if your abstract is accepted, you will also receive the added bonus of the reduced conference registration rate of $265!

To submit your abstract, please submit using the following guidelines:

  • Be 400 words or less in length
  • Title of Presentation
  • Include a short biography (60 words or less) introduction to be read before your presentation.
  • Include a full biography (250 words or less)
  • Institution’s logo
  • Speaker’s photo
  • Indicate if you would prefer a 45 minute or 1.5-hour session.

The day of your presentation you will be given ~40 min. to present your material leaving ~5 min. for the initial introduction and questions.  It is to be expected to have ~50 audience members.  A conference aide will proctor your presentation, and all AV equipment will be provided including microphones if needed. Our goal is to bring together bright minds to give talks that are idea-focused, and on a wide range of subjects, to foster learning, inspiration, and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter.

We understand that you may be still apprehensive or undecided about speaking at next year’s conference and we respect that.  However, our beloved conference can ONLY exist and thrive with the contribution of its members like yourself.  Regardless of whether you think this is a good fit for you, we just want to tell you how much we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to talk with you.  We know your time is probably not a commodity that is in abundant supply these days.
